Oxycodone hydrochloride was genotoxic in an in vitro mouse lymphoma assay from the presence of metabolic activation. There was no proof of genotoxic opportunity within an in vitro bacterial reverse mutation assay (Salmonella typhimurium and Escherichia coli) or within an assay for chromosomal aberrations (in vivo mouse bone marrow micronucleus assa
